In the Fast Talk with Boy Abunda episode aired on Wednesday, April 23, King of Talk Boy Abunda revisited a moment from years ago when he first interviewed Iñigo Pascual and Maris Racal as young rising stars. The two, who were once frequently paired on- and off-screen, sparked dating rumors due to their undeniable chemistry and close friendship.
Tito Boy directly asked Iñigo the question fans have long wondered about: was Maris Racal ever his girlfriend? Iñigo did not shy away from the inquiry, offering his answer with honesty as part of the show's signature segment.
The episode brought a wave of nostalgia for fans of the former love team, fondly known as “MarNigo,” who were once among the most talked-about young duos in Philippine showbiz.
While Iñigo's response added clarity to their past connection, the conversation also served as a reflection on how much both artists have grown personally and professionally since their early days in the industry.
"Mayroon kaming pagkakaintindihan ni Maris noon na sa amin lamang," he shared. "Hindi man 'yun nabigyan ng label pero mayroon kaming pagkakaintindihan."
He followed up by adding that they are still on good terms. "Sobrang okay kami and that what matters to me."
When asked about his current relationship status, the 26-year-old singer-actor revealed that, as of now, no one holds a special place in his heart--except for his parents and grandfather.
"Ngayon, walang nagmamay-ari ng puso ko kundi ang mama, papa, at lolo ko," Iñigo shared sincerely, emphasizing how close he remains to his family and how they continue to be his top priority.
He also confirmed that he is currently single and, more importantly, not actively seeking a romantic relationship. According to Iñigo, he's focusing on himself and his career, and he's not in a rush to fall in love or settle down.
“Wala akong hinahanap. Kung darating, darating. Pero ngayon, mas gusto ko munang mag-grow at mag-focus sa trabaho ko,” he explained.
"I feel I'm going through my quarter life crisis early I guess," Iñigo revealed.
Iñigo will be appearing in the film Fatherland, alongside Allen Dizon, Richard Yap, Kazel Kinouchi, and many others. The movie is directed by Joel Lamangan.
