As the world slowly recovers from the global coronavirus pandemic, GMA Network celebrates with the brightest K-Pop, P-pop, and Kapuso stars to usher in the new world with the 'Kapuso Countdown to 2023 Gayo Daejeon.'
Shepherding this year's one-of-a-kind collaboration is Asia's Multimedia Star Alden Richards, along with Julie Anne San Jose, Christian Bautista, Rayver Cruz, Barbie Forteza, Ruru Madrid, Sanya Lopez, Kyline Alcantara, and Derrick Monasterio, and Dasuri Choi. Also joining the cast are home-grown Kapuso singers Garrett Bolden, Jessica Villarubin, and Thea Astley. The cast of LUV IS: Caught In His Arms Sofia Pablo, Allen Ansay, Michael Sager, Sean Lucas, Vince Maristela, Tanya Ramos, and Cheska Fausto are also joining the celebrations.
Together, they will introduce the Kapuso audiences to the top-tier K-pop artists that will be part of this year's “Kapuso Countdown to 2023 Gayo Daejeon” and who will be performing in the lead-up to the new year.
The K-pop groups that will be participating in this year's SBS Gayo Daejeon are NCT 127, NCT DREAM, THE BOYZ, fromis_9, Stray Kids, (G)I-DLE, ATEEZ, ITZY, TOMORROW X TOGETHER, CRAVITY, aespa, ENHYPEN, IVE, NMIXX, TEMPEST, LE SSERAFIM, and NewJeans.
Derrick Monasterio and Sanya Lopez will also be on hand to cheer on Filipinos celebrating their small wins despite the challenges they face, with Garrett Bolden, Derrick, Jessica Villarubin, and Sanya also performing a song for the audience.
Barbie Forteza and Julie Anne San Jose will also talk about looking forward to the new year, while Thea Astley, Christian Bautista, Rayver Cruz, and Julie Anne will also perform an uplifting number.
The country's very own P-pop groups Calista, KAIA, and 1st.One will also be performing their hit songs.
The night's hosts will also be performing for the Kapuso audience, with Dasuri and Kyline, Ruru and Barbie, will also be performing a high-energy K-pop/P-pop dance mash-up. Alden then brings it all together before leading the countdown to the new year.
Aside from these performances, watch out for a surprise reveal after the clock strikes midnight!
