The decision was made in coordination with Manila authorities.

The Intramuros Administration has barred children ages five to 17 from visiting Fort Santiago and Baluarte de San Diego effective yesterday, July 20.

“Only ages 18-65 are allowed to visit the sites. Fully vaccinated senior citizens (at least two weeks after their second dose) are allowed to visit upon presenting their vaccination cards,” the Department of Tourism's (DOT) Intramuros Administration (IA) posted on social media.

The decision, added the advisory, was made in coordination with Manila authorities.

On July 8, the Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF) issued a notice allowing minors from five to 17 years old to visit outdoor sites in areas under modified general community quarantine (MGCQ) and general community quarantine (GCQ).

The Metro Manila Council (MMC), however, recommended to the IATF to restore public restrictions to prevent the possible spread of the dreaded and more transmissible Delta variant of COVID-19.
