Radiation therapy plays an important role in the journey of breast cancer patients. Also called radiotherapy, this treatment is recommended for all stages of breast cancer in order to kill the cancer cells and prevent it from spreading throughout the body.
But, is it necessary for all breast cancer patients? Pinoy MD's resident OB Gyne Dr. Raul “Q” Quillamor has the answer.
“No.
According to Dr. Q, there are radio therapy has a lot of indications.
'Pag more than four, then magra-radiation therapy siya.
According to Breastcancer.org, radiation therapy may be appropriate for patients with stage 0 through stage III breast cancer after lumpectomy or mastectomy. Radiation can also be very helpful to people with stage IV cancer that has spread all over the body.
