Squid Game

According to the streaming giant, 'Squid Game' has overtaken 'Bridgerton' in terms of viewers tuned in during its initial month of release.

Squid Game is now Netflix's most popular show, with 111 million Netflix subscribers tuning in to watch the show since it was launched on September 17.

The previous titleholder, historical romance Bridgerton, was watched by 82 million subscribers in the same time period. Netflix co-CEO and content chief Ted Sarandos had already said in other interviews that Squid Game was already on its way to becoming one of its biggest shows.

The show's massive success has also meant a boost to the careers of its stars. Just recently, model-turned-actress Jung Ho Yeon was named the new global ambassador for iconic fashion house Louis Vuitton after her star-making turn on “Squid Game.”

Lee Jung-jae is currently at 3.5 million followers while Park Hae-soo is at 2.1 million followers.

“Squid Game” also highlighted the acting career of Filipino actor Chris Chan, who appeared in a number of Korean productions aside from “Squid Game.” Check out some of his work in the gallery below.
