After a five-year hiatus, Filipino pop-rock band IV of Spades has reunited, bringing a big surprise for their fans.
The band released their much-anticipated comeback album, Andalucia, on Wednesday, November 5. The 12-track album features songs including “Tara,” “Monster,” “Paru-paro,” “Nanaman,” “Konsensya,” “Tamis ng Pagkakamali,” “Aura,” “Karma,” “Tangerine Boulevard,” “Kabisado,” “Rewind,” and “Suliranin,” which explore themes of love, individuality, mental health, and yearning.
In an Instagram post, the four-member band announced the release of their album and expressed their gratitude as they reunite once again — this time with the return of member Unique Salonga.
“Masaya kami na mapakinggan niyo 'tong first album naming apat. Pangarap lang namin 'to dati. Marami mang nangyari noon na hindi maganda, grateful pa rin na napunta kami dito,” they expressed.
The band also described their comeback album as a symbol of “hope.”
“Hetong album na 'to ang magsisilbing reminder sa 'min na may hope pala sa lahat ng mga bagay-bagay,” they wrote. “Maraming salamat! We love you all. ANDALUCIA. OUT NOW.”
IV of Spades' last release was their debut album CLAPCLAPCLAP! in 2019, during which the band continued as a trio after Unique's departure in 2018 to pursue a solo career.
In July, the pop-rock band made a surprise return with their single “Aura.”
IV of Spades is set to have a two-night concert at the SM Mall of Asia Arena on December 12 and 13.
