Veteran broadcast journalist Ivan Mayrina recently renewed his contract on Friday, September 5, with GMA Network to reaffirm his mission of truth and public service.
As he continues to deliver credible news, the Kapuso news anchor also shared his take on the recent flood control projects controversy in an exclusive interview with GMA Network.com.
"I think justified ang galit ng tao sa issue," he said.
Looking at the root of the issue, he pointed out that the contractors and DPWH officials are at the center of the controversy, as they are the ones being blamed and what netizens know "for now."
He continued, "But I said in a recent post, let us stay angry, it is enough that we get angry right now, but we need to stay angry at those who deserve it."
The 24 Oras Weekend news anchor stressed the importance of continuing the investigation and not stopping at the contractors and DPWH officials, as this issue is "systemic."
"Kung systemic, there are others involved. Now, it is up to all of us to find who else and we should hold them responsible," he added.
He also urged Filipinos to elect proper officials to help bring resolution to these kinds of problems.
"Be angry and stay angry," he emphasized.
