South Korean girl group IVE delivered a striking evolution of their artistry during the Manila leg of their “Show What I Am” world tour, proving they are more than ready to embrace a bolder, more confident identity.
While rehearsing for the tour, the members had already set a clear vision for the show. In a behind-the-scenes video shown during the concert, Liz shared that the setlist was crafted “to show a more confident and mature side of ourselves.”
“Because I wanted to show you an even cooler stage, we really prepared so hard,” Gaeul added. “So I hope DIVE[s] are having an incredibly happy time right now.”
That intention came to life onstage at the SM Mall of Asia Arena, where the group mounted a high-energy spectacle that highlighted both their growth and their signature polish.
Unlike their previous Manila concert in July 2024 under the “Show What I Have” tour where they appeared in soft, princess-like ensembles, IVE immediately flipped the narrative this time. The show opened with a dramatic reveal as a cloth dropped to unveil the six members: An Yujin, Gaeul, Rei, Jang Wonyoung, Liz, and Leeseo, in leather outfits, exuding fierce charisma as they launched into “Gotcha (Baddest Eros).”
The opening segment leaned into darker, edgier tracks such as “Blackhole,” with powerful choreography marked by sharper, punchier movements. The performances were elevated by dazzling visuals, dramatic lighting, spark fountains, and bursts of confetti, delivering the full spectacle expected from K-pop's top-tier acts.
A standout change in this tour was the expansion of solo stages. Rather than covers, each member performed original tracks from their sophomore album REVIVE+, allowing them, as Leeseo described, “show and express the charm of every member.”
Wonyoung captivated the crowd with “8,” while Rei brought playful energy to “In Your Heart.” Liz leaned into a pop-punk aesthetic for “Unreal,” and Gaeul delivered a dreamy yet dynamic performance of “Odd.” Leeseo impressed with her confident stage presence in “Super Icy,” before Yujin capped the segment with “Force,” showcasing her powerful vocals and commanding dance skills.
Following the intense opening and solo stages, IVE shifted gears, returning in angelic white outfits with wings for a softer, more interactive segment with fans. The mood soon built back up toward the finale, as the group shed their white ensembles to reveal gold outfits and launched into “Attitude.”
The crowd's energy peaked during performances of their biggest hits, including “Love Dive,” “Rebel Heart,” and “I Am,” before closing the main set with the explosive “Bang Bang.”
For the encore, IVE kept the energy high with “Wild Bird” and “Supernova Love,” eventually wrapping up the night with the disco-infused “After Like.”
Filipino fans take center stage
Beyond the performances, IVE made a strong connection with Filipino fans through heartfelt interactions and playful use of local phrases.
Yujin greeted the audience with, “Kamusta kayong lahat? Na-miss ko kayo!” - drawing cheers for her natural delivery. During introductions, Liz and Wonyoung charmed fans by saying, “Ako ang cutie niyo,” while Yujin playfully asked, “Maganda ba ako?” to which the crowd responded with loud approval.
The night ended on an emotional note as the members expressed their gratitude.
“Thanks to you guys, I had a meaningful and unforgettable moment today. I was so happy that I got to spend today with such precious people,” Leeseo said.
“I prepared a Philippine expression for you guys,” she added, telling fans, “DIVE, mahal kita.”
“Since it's been so long since we last visited the Philippines, I think we had more fun today,” Wonyoung shared, before charming the audience with, “Ako lang tingnan mo.”
Gaeul reflected on the group's promise to return. “I remember that we promised we would be coming back. Do you guys remember that promise? It's such a relief and we feel so happy that we got to keep our promise,” she said.
“Once again I'd like to promise you guys that we'll be back.”
Echoing her, Rei added, “We were really able to feel how happy you guys were through us. So please cherish the memories we made today and we'll make sure to come back. Let's see each other again.”
With a refreshed image, stronger stage presence, and a deeper connection with their audience, IVE's Manila concert proved that the group is confidently stepping into a new era, one that fans are more than ready to dive into.
