Content creators Rei Germar and Ry Velasco finally joined the conversation on the flood control projects controversy involving their friend Jammy Cruz.

Recently, content creator Jammy Cruz was involved in the trending controversy surrounding flood control projects, as her family's company allegedly has secured several flood control projects with the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH).

According to reports, Jammy's father, Noel Cruz, is the general manager of Sto. Cristo Construction and Trading Inc. was awarded at least PhP3.5 billion worth of flood control projects from 2022 to 2024.

The controversy quickly spread on social media, with netizens expressing their thoughts on Jammy's lifestyle as a content creator, particularly her regular display of luxury designer items.

Jammy's fellow influencers and close friends, Rei Germar and Ry Velasco, were also tagged to share their take on the issue.

On Instagram Stories, Rei released a statement clarifying her stance amid the controversy.

"I can't talk about things I don't have knowledge of, more so speak for others. What I can say is that I do not stand for or tolerate such behavior," she said.

The fashion influencer further stressed, "Accountability is important, and it should be driven towards where it truly belongs.

"I trust that the truth will always surface. I can truthfully say I earn all my money from all the work I've done and because of all the support I have received from you from all the years I've been on this platform," she explained.

Meanwhile, Ry posted a video on TikTok, joining the viral trend "Who are you trying to impress?" where she looked back on her younger years.

"Here's to building ourselves, by ourselves. Self-made all the way," she wrote.

In the comments section, netizens pointed out Ry's choice of background music, "Back to friends" by Sombr, which highlighted the lyrics "How can we go back to being friends?"

She was also praised by many for being fierce and standing up for what is right.

The controversy led to the resurfacing of Jammy's old content, mainly her July 2022 Preview Magazine interview titled "Jammy Cruz Shares Her Top 5 Designer Items," where she talked about her pink Chanel Mini Rectangular Flap in Pearl Crush.

Following the backlash, Jammy has since put her Instagram account on private, while her YouTube channel has already been deactivated. Preview Magazine has also removed the interview from its YouTube channel.

As of writing this article, Jammy has yet to release an official statement addressing the allegations against her family.
