South Korean actor Jang Dong-yoon has announced that he is set to marry fellow actress Kim Seung-yoon this October.

The actor personally shared the news with fans on August 25 through a handwritten letter posted on Instagram, revealing that he and his longtime partner have decided to take the next step in their relationship.

"Hello. This is Jang Dong-yoon.

"I am writing this today because I have some news I wanted to share with you all personally.

"This coming October, I will be marrying the person I have been with for a long time," he wrote.

Jang Dong-yoon shared that the they plan to keep the occasion intimate by holding a worship service attended only by their immediate families.

"We plan to hold a quiet ceremony via worship service, attended by our families from both sides," he said.

The actor also opened up about the thought process that led to their decision to get married, saying their relationship deepened as they spent more time together and learned to appreciate each other's strengths and differences.

"I had many thoughts and concerns before deciding to get married. As we spent a lot of time together, we came to know each other's various sides, and in doing so, we came to understand and cherish each other even more," he shared.

"We have decided to stand by each other's side from the closest proximity and live a fun and happy life together."

Jang Dong-yoon said it was important for him to personally share the news with fans who have supported him throughout his acting career.

"I wanted to share this news first with you, who have always supported me and been with me through every moment of my journey as an actor," he wrote.

"You may be surprised by this sudden news, but I would be grateful if you would watch over us with a warm heart."

The actor also expressed his commitment to continuing his growth both as an artist and as an individual.

"I will continue to strive to show you a good side of myself as an actor and to live a more mature life as a person."

Following the announcement, Jang Dong-yoon's agency, BH Entertainment, confirmed the upcoming wedding. Media reports also noted the couple's previous collaborations, including The Tale of Nokdu and several independent film projects directed by the actor.

Jang Dong-yoon is known for his roles in dramas such as The Tale of Nokdu, Search, Daily Dose of Sunshine, and My Man Is Cupid.

Meanwhile, Kim Seung-yoon made her television debut in the drama The Green Bean General and later appeared in series such as Method, Crash, and Please Take Care of the Eagle Brothers.

She has also built a career in independent cinema, featuring in films including Chan-sil Is Not So Popular, In the Water, Our Day, The Traveler's Needs, and Nuruk, taking on a range of roles from minor appearances to supporting leads.
