Janina San Miguel famously burst into public consciousness during the Binibining Pilipinas 2008 pageant.
It's been more than 15 years since she's participated in a pageant, but former Binibining Pilipinas World Janina San Miguel shows that she still knows a thing or two about being in one in a recent video.
The Missosology Philippines Facebook page has posted a minute-long video of Janina during the question-and-answer portion of the Mrs. Face of Tourism 2023 pageant. In the video, she is shown answering a question about civil status and its relevance, as well as what characteristic best describes her as a pageant candidate.
In response to the first question, Janina references recent Miss Universe winner R'Bonney Gabriel's winning response, saying that it is not about one's age or status but about treating everyone equally. As to the second question, Janina cited her “courage, perseverance, and patience.”

Of course, Janina first burst into the public's consciousness after her memorable response to the question and answer portion of the 2008 Binibining Pilipinas pageant. Her difficulty in answering a question about the role her family played in her participation in the pageant earned her meme status, with part of it - “my Pamily” and “taf 10” - still being quoted online and in comedic moments.
Janina gave up her Binibining Pilipinas World crown in 2008 and got married to Indian national Vishal Sahota in 2014. She also participated in a 2021 Singapore-based documentary series about beauty pageants.
Beauty queens participating in multiple beauty pageants is a common thing. Before becoming Miss Universe Philippines, Celeste Cortesi represented the country in the 2018 Miss Earth pageant.
Miss Universe 2015 Pia Wurtzbach famously joined the Binibining Pilipinas pageant three times before finally being named Binibining Pilipinas Universe and eventually winning the Miss Universe crown.
