How did their romance bloom in 'Villa Quintana'?

Last month, Elmo Magalona caught everyone by surprise when he admitted his relationship with Janine Gutierrez to the press.

How did their love story start?

Janine and Elmo met on the set of Villa Quintana. It marked their first team-up, which proved to be successful.

In an interview on Startalk, Elmo was asked how he courted Janine.

He replied, “Sinurprise ko na lang siya.”

Janine shared,  “Ano kasi, parang everything just happened unexpectedly. Hindi siya ‘yung parang...it wasn’t anything super formal or planado. Parang we just went with what we felt and ‘yung steady lang until ito na nga.”

The lovely couple will team-up anew in the upcoming GMA series, More Than Words.

How different is it from Villa Quintana?

Elmo answered, “Sa story pa lang, ibang-iba na siya and gustong-gusto ko na hindi na siya drama kasi super heavy drama ‘yung Villa Quintana. Dito, napaka-light ng kuwento at maraming makaka-relate sa kuwento namin.”

“It’s about Ikay and Hiro. Si Ikay kasi medyo bullied tapos hindi siya kagandahan,” added Janine.

What is their message for each other?

Elmo said, “Ako, I’m just happy and I’m proud of your work. Since nag-start tayo kasi, nagpakita ka ng bagong character dito sa show and nakita ko ‘yung super nag-e-effort ka talaga para sa show and I’m super happy na nagtutulungan tayo rito for More Than Words.”

Janine replied, “Ako, I’m just really, really happy for you and everything that you’ve achieved since Villa [Quintana] and I’m glad to be a fan. While you’re growing with work and like with the things na gusto mong gawin, sa mga bagay na happy ka about and I’ll always, always be here to support you naman.”
