The Miss Universe 2012 first runner-up shared that the opportunity is a great avenue for her to showcase herself and prove what she can offer.


NU Muses named Janine Tugonon as one of its 12 Calendar Models for 2017. The mission of the global model search is to ‘celebrate the forgotten art of the classic nude, to capture the elegance and romance of the female form, worthy of gracing find art galleries and walls’.

The Miss Universe 2012 first runner-up shared that the opportunity is a great avenue for her to showcase herself and prove what she can offer.

“I flew to the US from [the] Philippines with a dream… to be globally known and excellent in [the modelling and acting industries]. Being in this calendar is a huge opportunity to showcase my beauty and personality, a great exposure for me and hopefully will be the beginning of a long lasting successful career in this field I’m very passionate about,” she said, in response to why she wanted to be part of the calendar.

For her, the concept behind the project conveys artfulness and creativity.

“Nudity for me is art at its purest form. It is the bare, the untouched and the raw beauty that a woman can showcase and be proud of,” she added.
