Enjoy once again the funniest Japanese game show 'Takeshi's Castle.'

Japan's most popular game show, Takeshi's Castle, is getting a reboot with new games and better dynamics, but with the same fun and laughter viewers all know and love.

Produced by Project 8 Productions, Takeshi's Castle will air on Amazon Prime starting on November 16, with two episodes each week for a total of eight episodes.

Actor and comedian Smokey Manaloto, who previously hosted the show, will be back together with brand new co-hosts--fellow comedian Eugene Domingo and internet sensation and content creator Sassa Gurl.

During the media con on November 8, Smokey, Eugene, and Sassa expressed how happy they were to be part of the rebooted game show.

“It feels good kasi after 30 years, vini-visit namin ang show na nagpasaya sa napakaraming mga bata noon, tapos ngayon ay mga working professional na talaga,” Smokey said.

He also expressed how happy he was that aside from Takeshi's Castle being revived, he, as a former host, was called to host it again.

“It's a very humbling experience na after 30 years, napagdesisyunan pa rin ng Project 8 Productions na isama ako kaya nagpapasalamat ako sa Project 8 and sa Prime na parte ako ngayon ng Takeshi's Castle,” he said.

Eugene, likewise, also expressed her happiness and related that there were a lot of factors that made her say yes, one of which was working with both Smokey and Sassa.

The actress-comedian revealed that she finds Sassa's mind “mataba,” and expressed how excited she is to working with Sassa.

“It's an exciting job opportunity to work with these upcoming commedians na iba na 'yung level nila. Hindi sila sa TV sumikat, sa social media, but they're doing very, very well at ang dami nilang tigahanga,” she said.

With Smokey, Eugene said, “After your daddy Dolphy, with all your training, nasa 'yo na ngayon. Ikaw na 'to ngayon. Ikaw na 'yung magpapalaganap ng kung ano man 'yung galing at techniques na mga natutunan mo kay daddy Dolphy.”

Sassa, on the other hand, admitted that she's been a huge fan of the first iteration of Takeshi's Castle, which is one of the main reasons she said yes. She added that the opportunity of working together with Smokey and Eugene was also a big factor in saying yes.

When asked how was it working with her two co-hosts, Sassa said, “Sobrang welcoming sa 'kin ang mga co-hosts ko. Sobrang nilu-look-up ko 'tong mga 'to.”

Takeshi's Castle hosts Smokey, Eugene, and Sassa promised that this newest version of the Japanese game show will have a lot of improvements while still retaining the fun and enjoyable parts of the game show.

Smokey even admitted that the banter and the reactions they have throughout the show are all organic and that they do not follow any scripts.

“'Yung flow ng show, napaka-organic, walang script, 'yung biruan namin dun halos magkasakitan na kami. Totoo, pero nagtatawanan at nag-e-enjoy kami,” he said.

Smokey added, “I'm pretty sure, na-experience ko 'yung previous na Takeshi's Castle. Ngayon, very modern pero, at the same time, andun pa rin 'yung essence, 'yung fun na binibigay ng Takeshi's Castle.'”

The actor-comedian also revealed that they do not watch any footage ahead and only see the episodes during taping.

“ On the spot pinanonood sa'min so lahat ng reactions namin are raw. And ang galing naman talaga amg react nitong si Sassa Gurl,” Smokey said.

Sassa added, “Lahat naman kami, actually, atsaka ang ganda ng dynamics.”

Eugene, on the other hand, said that she agrees to how they were cast as hosts of Takeshi's Castle.

“Meron kaming iba't-ibang dimensions na nire-represent. Ang ganda, nung sama-sama na kami, iba-iba 'yung contribution ng mga hanash namin. Ito 'yung show na walang commitment, free-flowing,” she said.

Eugene added, “Nakakatuwa, totoo ýung nakikita niyong saya, totoo 'yun, hindi 'yung for the sake na ma-video lang. Ang saya-saya namin the whole time that we were taping it.”
