"This is the extra step that I believe I can take to protect myself," wrote Jasmine as she encourages everyone to get their COVID-19 vaccine.

Kapuso actress Jasmine Curtis-Smith joined the long list of celebrities who got their COVID-19 vaccine.

As an effort to encourage the public to get vaccinated, Jasmine asked everyone who has doubts about the vaccine to consult the medical experts.

She wrote, "I've heard a lot say that there's too much information online and that they don't know what to believe anymore.

"Nothing beats consulting the medical experts themselves, especially those that know your own medical history.

"I understand those who may have their own anxieties about taking this step but I also understand the pain of losing someone and the struggles that come along with the burdens of dealing with COVID.

"If we can take the extra step to protect ourselves mentally, physically and financially, why not?"

Jasmine added that she was lucky to get the shot before returning to the set of her primetime series The World Between Us.

She added, "Before going into mandatory quarantine for our lock-in taping, I was thankfully able to get the COVID vaccine.

"I have been so eager for this opportunity because I have asthma and also work in the industry that does require us to take off our masks and have face-to-face interactions.

"This is the extra step that I believe I can take to protect myself."
