From the dance floor to the theater stage, this is how Jasmine Curtis-Smith now divides her time. Aside from being a celebrity dance star on the weekly show Stars on the Floor, the actress can also be seen in the stage adaptation of the hit 2007 Cinemalaya film ENDO.
“Sino tayo ngayon? So yun na nga, parang siguro, ganun na rin, segue queen tayo, katulad ng marami,” Jasmine said with a smile when she spoke to GMANetwork.com after the press preview of ENDO last night, April 8.
She continued, “Siyempre, alam din naman natin na when there's work, it's a blessing to have and it's good to be busy. So as much as possible, we take on any projects that are offered at kung kaya ba naman ang katawan.
“So yung dancerist ko dun sa Stars on the Floor, thankfully na-apply ko naman dito and some of the scenes that we have, some choreography, so that's exciting. I think it was meant to also happen simultaneously.”
Jasmine was referring to her intimate scenes with Royce Cabrera, which were presented through intimate choreography and were admired by viewers.
It was noticeable that the two actors showed no awkwardness while performing the scenes.
Jasmine explained, “Siguro malaking bagay kasi na we have an intimacy coordinator sa set namin. So nagiging mas technical talaga yung bawat hawak, bawat lagay ng kamay.
“Bago namin siya gawin ng mas fluid and mas may motion. Pina-technical naming, na step-by-step siya, para pagdating na siya mismong pag-apply nung kiss or ng kamay, anywhere on the body.
“Instead of thinking feelings, which is for the audience to feel when they see it sa set, kami, we think of how do we execute it so it looks real, that we are really in love and everything like that.”

The actress herself said she was impressed by how this kind of scene execution was conceptualized.
She added, “Ang galing kasi, these are things na ako din as an actress—from TV, film, now to theater—nakikita kong applied siya across all mediums, yung intimacy coordinator. And laking bagay niya para walang kailangan, walang accidental thoughts, walang apprehension sa bawat galit.”
Overall, she said it feels different whenever she becomes part of a theater project. Before Endo, Jasmine was part of 3 Upuan (2025).
“Ibang-iba yung gratification after performing live,” the actress said.
“It's something that you can't repeat, something that you can't close up, make up for what you did wrong previously. So, it's that thrill, that adrenaline na, 'pag nagkamali ako dito, dapat kaya akong bawiin at matawid yung scene na hindi nakahalata na nagkamali ako, or na may nakaligtaan akong video.
“I think yun yung exciting. Kasi, sa TV or film, pagka nagblangko ka, cut, okay, close up na lang natin 'yan para makabawi. But here kasi talagang yun na yun, girl, 360 [degrees], kita niyo ako, hindi ako pwedeng mandaya ng kahit ano. So, yun yung thrill dito.”
The stage adaptation of ENDO will run at the PETA Theater Center from April 10 to May 10.
