Actress-singer Jayda Avanzado shared a cover of the hit song "Thinking of You" by American singer Katy Perry on TikTok, which was warmly received and supported by netizens and her fans.

Jayda was shocked to find that it wasn't just the netizens who admired her performance; the original artist herself, Katy, noticed the video and immediately left a comment.

Katy admitted that whenever she listens to her own song now, she can't help but think of and hear Jayda's version of it.

“When I'm listening to my version of Thinking of You, I am thinking of your version of Thinking of You,” Katy wrote in the comments.

Overwhelmed with emotion, Jayda, a true fan at heart, posted a tearful video response to Katy's comment.

In her video, she thanked the American singer and shared that Perry was one of her greatest influences as a vocalist, which is why being noticed by her was such a dream come true.

“I just woke up, and I already want to cry. Katy, you don't know how much this means to me,” Jayda said.

She continued, “I really appreciate you acknowledging my cover, you're one of my biggest influences ever as an artist, as a vocalist, and it just means the world to me.”

Fifteen years after its original debut, Katy treated fans to the director's cut of her "Thinking of You" music video this past April.

Born into Filipino music royalty, Jayda is the sole daughter of longtime couple Jessa Zaragoza and Dingdong Avanzado, who tied the knot back in 2001.
