Jayda Avanzado

"They always use it as an opportunity to try and discredit us..." - Jayda Avanzado

Jayda Avanzado shared her thoughts on the term "nepo baby" and its impact on her career and personal life.

Nepo baby refers to the child of a celebrity or influential person.

Dictionary.com defined nepo baby as "a notable or powerful person, such as a celebrity or politican, with a parent who is also notable or powerful, especially one whose industry connections are perceived as essential to their success."

Based on the definition, Jayda is considered one, as she is the daughter of Dingdong Avanzado and Jessa Zaragoza.

In her interview on Luis Manzano's YouTube channel, Jayda discussed how pursuing a career in the same industry as her parents affected her.

Jayda said, "I am not saying all people think that way but some people they always use it as an opportunity to try and discredit us."

Luis, who falls into the same category as a "nepo baby," initially stated that you can't choose your family. He said, "I see it online, some people take it as something negative. Nakikita ko 'yan. But how do you see it? Uunahan na kita diyan. It's not as if we chose to be born sa pamilya na 'yun. It's not as if, bigla na lang, ay si Vilma at si Edu, diyan ako papasok. Hindi siya ganoon e. We can't choose families."

Jayda agreed with Luis's statement and said, "I totally agree that you can't choose families, you don't choose your parents."

Jayda considers being a "nepo baby" a blessing.

"Ako, personally for me, I see it as a blessing that I was born into this family because I was born into a family who supports me in what I do and they really understand what the industry that I found myself in. We all speak the same language," she said.
