Despite not winning the coveted Mr. World title, Mr. Philippines JB Saliba expressed his gratitude on joining the competition as he gained new friends from around the world.
"That's the best thing about this competition. Now, it's not just friends, I have brothers: [71] brothers around the world," JB told reporters after the coronation night.
"'Yun 'yung biggest price dito."
JB said that he is partly sad because the contestants will be leaving the country sooner or later.
"I'm very, very happy and sad at the same time," JB said .
"Honestly, kasi mag-aalisan silang lahat, that's the sad part. Ako yung maiiwan dito."
JB also added that being the host-delegate of Mr. World made him more understanding to people.
"Well it's hard to be the host-delegate kasi everyone's asking you for everything," JB explained.
"Pero it's fun. Actually natutunan ko talaga is you have to understand everybody dahil first time ko maka-experience na some of the guys don't know how to speak English.
"Ang natutunan ko is yung talagang how to just mingle with everybody, how to be brothers kahit hindi kayo nagkakaintindihan in a language perspective."
