The Kapuso actress has a strong message for those who seem to rejoice over her lola's passing.
On August 28, Saturday, Kapuso artist and social media star Jelai Andres revealed that her 99-year-old grandmother, Nanay Mona, passed away.
On her social media accounts, Jelai shared a photo of her hand holding Nanay Mona's and captioned it, “Nanay Mona lived until 99 super happy long years. Until we meet again Nanay Mona Red. I love you forever #brokenhearted #lolasgirl”
In a separate post, Jelai said that they are fortunate to have spent so many years with their Nanay Mona and that she died of old age.
“Wala siya sakit, humina na lang ang tibok ng puso sa katandaan. Napakaswerte namin,” Jelai said.
However, the following day, Jelai posted a lengthy, emotion-driven message to people who seem to rejoice over the passing of her lola.
She began the post by saying, “Sa mga nagsasabing karma sa'kin pagkamatay ng lola ko at nagdidiwang sila kasi nagluluksa kaming pamilya at nasasaktan ako ng sobra. Yes, karma nga! I think Good karma. Kasi bnigyan siya ni Lord ng mahabang buhay 99 years old na siya.”
Jelai also shared a screenshot of people talking about the death of her Nanay Mona, which seems to be from a fan group chat of her ex, Jon Gutierrez a.k.a. King Badger.
The netizens were making fun of Jelai's heartbreak. One of them even said, “Oo ngaaa anxiety and depressed is there na nga mare, kawawang andres!! Karma pa ngaaaa.”
Jelai then called out the unacceptable behavior of these people.
“Hindi po dapat sine-celebrate at pinapalakpakan ang 'pag luluksa ng ibang tao.
“I'm also human I get hurt too just like all of you.
“Sana 'wag n'yo maranasan magluksa at mawalan ng mahal sa buhay tapos pinagtatawanan kayo at sine-celebrate pa ng ibang tao ang pain at pagluluksa n'yo ng pamilya n'yo.
“Hurting a grieving person is totally not acceptable!
“'Wag po sana tayong maging ganyan.”
Jelai ended her post with a strong message for those rejoicing over her loss.
“Sa mga nakiramay po sa pamilya namin maraming salamat po mahal ko po kayo at sa mga nagsasaya dahil nasasaktan ako at waiting lagi magdiwang sa depression ko, t*ng*na n'yo pala po! You can't break me, Im already broken b*tch!”
