Jennica Garcia comes off the successful
Ako si Kim Samsoon to play Gelay in
Gagambino where her mother Jean plays the lead antagonist.
After her notable performance in 'Ako Si Kim Samsoon' Jennica Garcia can now be seen in another top rating show, 'Carlo J. Caparas' Gagambino.' What's more she will now be working with her mom, Ms. Jean Garcia, who is the lead antagonist in the story. Text by Loretta G. Ramirez, Photos by Connie M. Tungul
As the story of
Gagambino(Dennis Trillo) sister as played by Jennica Garcia.
"Actually ang role ko meron syang mystery, 'di lang ako may love interest kay
Mart (Escudero). Ampon kasi ako ni Kuya Dennis at ni Kuya Benjie so hindi ko alam kung sino ang tunay kong magulang dito," explains the young actress. And while she is working with her real life boyfriend, her role does not revolve around their love team.

"'Yung kay Mart naman hindi sya 'yung typical na lagi naming ginagawa sa soap, kasi dito parang aso't pusa kami" shares Jennica with iGMA.
Working with her mom
Although this is not the first time that Jean and Jennica Garcia have worked on the same show (their first was
Impostora.), this is their first time to do a scene together. As expected, this prospect made the younger actress more enthusiastic and excited about being a part of
Gagambino.
"Excited ako at saka dapat nilang abangan 'yan dahil sa fourth week, mararanasan kong masabunutan at masaktan ng nanay ko," confirms Jennica. She adds that when she received the script and learned that she and her mom would be in a scene together, she immediately texted Jean and asked her if she knew about it.

"Sabi ko nga magdala sya ng maraming pagkain at magluto sya ng paborito ko at iinitin namin sa taping."
She also admits that aside from the excitement, she also felt some reservations on the scene that they will share.
"Nate-tense talaga ako, kasi alam mo balita ko ang nanay ko nanto-totoo, 'yung tunay sya, as in hindi nya mapigilan [ang galit]. Kapag pinigilan niya masagwa lumalabas, sana lang maalala niya na anak niya ako (laughs)," says the daughter of the premier kontrabida of Philippine television.
Proving that she is really her mother's daughter, Jennica Garcia is slowly but surely making a name for herself. Though some people might say that she has a lot more to prove to reach Jean's status in show business, we believe that Jennica is slowly making her way towards that goal.
