Actress Jennica Garcia gave birth to her firstborn with husband Alwyn Uytingco yesterday (July 16). They named their 7.12 pound baby girl Athena Mori.

According to a report in Balitanghali, the couple is currently asking for privacy as they celebrate this milestone and as Jennica recovers from delivery.

Last week, she started a blog to chronicle her journey as a mother and a family woman. Here, she revealed that she is a firm supporter of organic and fair trade, and that she is ‘drawn to the benefits of babywearing, natural medicine, homeschooling, breastfeeding and cloth diapering.’

In her first post, she also revealed that being a wife and mother is the fulfillment to a dream.

“All I really wanted to begin with is to have my own family, to be a homemaker, to be a mother and a wife who gives service and unconditional love to a hardworking husband. God made this dream a reality for me…” she wrote.

Alwyn and Jennica have been married since February 2014.
