Jennylyn Mercado proved that she's not given the Ultimate Survivor title for nothing as she defended herself from someone who doubts her about overcoming her bashers.
This is in line with her being outspoken about the political and social issues currently surrounding the country.
On Twitter yesterday, July 29, Jennylyn exposed the private message that expresses a concern.
I am a lot stronger than you think.

Kayang kaya. Ako pa? ❤️ pic.twitter.com/XWCf5LSEON
It read: "Bessie. Ang daming artista na nagsasalita ang binabash at nilalait. Kakayanin mo pa ba?"
The said message provoked Jennylyn to respond publicly.
She strongly stated, "I am a lot stronger than you think. Kayang kaya. Ako pa? [heart emoji]"
A concerned netizen named Analette expressed fear for Jennylyn, hoping that the actress does not receive any death threats.
Bessie sana walang death threats :(
-- Analette (@analette) July 29, 2020
In her reply, Jennylyn assured Analette that there are no death threats involved. However, she revealed that she often received harsh words attacking her contribution to the betterment of the country.
Wala bessie.

I must be doing something right if they need to do those things to try to silence me. 🤷🏻♀️
Replying to Analette's tweet, the Kapuso star said, "Wala bessie. Puro panlalait lang sa pagkatao ko, pagsabi shut up, at pagtanong anong ambag ko."
Jennylyn then said that it is sad to know that some people already forgot to respect one's opinion.
"I must be doing something right if they need to do those things to try to silence me.
"Pero nakakalungkot na madami satin ang nakalimutan ng rumespeto kahit social media lang."
Jennylyn's friend and My Love From The Star co-star Ana Barro was quick to defend her as well.
Bashers??? Suuuus!! Kaya yan Ate! 🙌🏻

"Bashers??? Suuuus!! Kaya yan Ate!" Anna tweeted.
To console her, some of Jennylyn's fans also reminded her how strong she is not to surpass such criticism.
Bashers lang yan bessie. Baka nakalimutan nilang may powers ka! Haha 😘😘😘 pic.twitter.com/Qm9X9KTCrG

Some netizens even lauded Jennylyn for standing up for her principles.

One netizen also brought up Jennylyn's traumatic experience as a battered child in the past to remind her that she can survive any challenge life throws her way.
We know parts of your life story and honestly for me it's not just your strength that's admirable. It's your compassion. Kahit sinaktan ka at inabuso, naging mabuti ka pa ring tao. Malakas ang loob pero malambot ang puso. 👑
