The Filipino music industry is mourning the loss of Piwee Polintan, the beloved lead vocalist of the band Jeremiah, who passed away on October 28, 2025, at the age of 47.

In a heartfelt statement posted on social media, Piwee's bandmates announced his passing and paid tribute to the singer's remarkable talent and kind spirit.

“It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Mr. Piwee Polintan, beloved vocalist of the band Jeremiah,” the statement read.

“Piwee was an exceptional artist whose voice and passion touched the hearts of many. Beyond his music, he was a cherished friend, a loving soul, and a brother to us all.”

The band also expressed their gratitude to those who offered prayers and support during Piwee's illness, asking fans to continue keeping his loved ones in their thoughts.

A separate announcement shared details of his wake, which will begin at 3:00 p.m. on October 29, 2025, at Funeraria Lorenzo, Inc., located at 1704 N. Zamora Street, Tondo, Manila. Details of his interment will be announced at a later date.

Piwee Polintan rose to fame as the lead vocalist of Jeremiah, a Filipino pop ballad group best known for its heartfelt love songs and soulful harmonies. The band became a staple of late 1990s and early 2000s OPM, producing timeless hits such as “Nanghihinayang,” “Bakit Ka Iiyak,” and “Oh Babe.”

Through his powerful voice and emotional performances, Piwee helped define Jeremiah's signature sound, one that continues to resonate deeply with fans of Original Pilipino Music.

“His legacy will live on through the songs and memories he shared with the world,” the band wrote. “May his soul rest in eternal peace.”
