The episode features a modern take on The Parable of the Good Samaritan from the Bible. Sam is a former drug user who is returning to his hometown after recovering in a rehabilitation program. He is ridiculed by the public despite his repentance.

Whenever a crime occurs in their community, Sam is always put to blame. Determined to change for the better, Sam takes lowly jobs to make a living and resists the urge to turn to drugs again.
