Phenomenal Diva Jessa Zaragoza went public about her being “missing in action” for several weeks. The iconic OPM singer shared on her Instagram post last August 10 that she got sick before her husband, Dingdong Avanzado's 37th-anniversary concert.
She wrote on Instagram, “Hello World! I've been MIA [missing in action] since the aftermath of Dingdong's 37th Anniversary concert at the Theatre at Solaire last July 19.
“Prior to the concert, I got really sick. Ni-rounds ko na 'ata 'yung mga ospital. Cardinal, St. Lukes, Diliman. Tinawid ko lang talaga sa concert. Nakaraos naman nang mahusay. Salamat sa Diyos.”
The former Pepito Manaloto star then discussed that she was diagnosed with a vocal polyp. (https://www.gmanetwork.com/entertainment/tv/pepito_manaloto_tuloy_ang_kuwento/108700/jessa-zaragoza-and-jen-rosendahl-bump-into-each-other-in-boracay/story)
In an article published at my.clevelandclinic.org, vocal cord polyps, like nodules, can result from repeatedly overusing or misusing your voice. They can also form after a single episode of vocal abuse
Polyps can vary in size and shape but are usually larger than nodules.
Jessa continued, “After the big event, I underwent an important scheduled procedure at St. Luke's Global.
“You see, months before the concert, apart from the other sickness I dealt with, I had noticed some hoarseness coming from my voice and upon examination, discovered I had a Vocal polyp and Esophageal varices on my vocal folds. This is the second time I've dealt with something to this extent, so it definitely alarmed me that I had to go through this again.
“The procedure was to remove said findings, and thankfully, it went smoothly. The recovery process began and I had to go on complete vocal rest for over a week. No talking whatsoever.
“As if that weren't enough already, while I was recuperating, I caught a bug. Uso talaga ngayon. 'Di talaga ako tinantanan ng sakit.”
Despite her health struggle, Jessa is keeping her spirit up. “The stress really took a toll on my health. Napakanta na talaga ako ng kanta ko, “Parang 'di ko yata kaya!”
She also expressed her profound gratitude to everyone who has been praying for her fast recovery.
“I'm still not back to 100% but I'm feeling much better every single day. I Praise GOD for His grace and healing. I can't wait to prepare and get back to work as soon as possible to prepare for our major tour happening in Sept; The North American tour for “Sa Aking Puso” the concert together with the “Original Prince of Pinoy Pop @dingdongavanzado & @jayda, as our Special guest.” Jessa noted.
“I can't wait to use my instrument again and do what I do best, which is performing for you all; our kababayans.
“Thank you so much to our whole family and dear friends who've been praying for my fast recovery.”
