Jessa Zaragoza is back, and she's hitting us right in the feels once again.
The OPM icon behind timeless classics like “Bakit Pa?,” “Di Ba't Ikaw,” and “Paano Kaya,” returns to the spotlight with a brand-new single that cuts straight to the soul, “Ang Sakit Sakit.”
This emotional track marks her long-awaited reunion with hitmaker and songwriting legend Vehnee Saturno, their first collaboration in 13 years since their 2012 tearjerker “Nasaan,” which became the theme song of defunct Kapuso teledrama Kung Aagawin Mo Ang Langit (2011).
“Reuniting with Tito Vehnee felt like picking up a powerful conversation after years of silence,” Jessa shared. “This song is for everyone who's ever loved too hard and been hurt even harder.”
True to her signature style, “Ang Sakit Sakit” tells a painful story of love lost to betrayal--the kind of heartbreak anthem only Jessa can deliver, blending raw emotion with vocal power that reminds fans why she's OPM royalty.
“It reminds me of the pain in 'Bakit Pa?' but this time, the hurt cuts from a deeper place,” she said.
Adding a beautiful twist to this comeback, Jessa's daughter Jayda Avanzado joins the project as vocal producer and backing vocalist, giving the track a new dimension of warmth and generational artistry.
Produced and composed by Vehnee Saturno, the single also boasts an all-star lineup: Bobby Velasco (arranger), Ardie de Guzman (guitars), Olúwatóbilóba “Tóbi” Samson Omójolà (drums), John Cruspero (vocal editor), Shadiel Chan (mixing), and Jan Fuertez (mastering).
Released under Nine Degrees North, “Ang Sakit Sakit” is now available on all digital streaming platforms. Fans can also watch the official lyric video on Jessa Zaragoza's YouTube channel.
After more than a decade, Jessa proves that true artistry never fades, it only grows deeper, more soulful, and yes… more masakit.
