GMA News pillars Jessica Soho and Mike Enriquez are once again named as most trusted personalities in the Philippines.
In a recent virtual celebration, Reader's Digest publicly acknowledged Kapuso Mo, Jessica Soho host and dzBB broadcaster as award winners for its latest list of Philippines Trusted Personalities.
The most trusted TV host/presenter of news and current affairs was won by Soho.
In 2019, Soho received the first ever Hall of Fame Award as the Most Trusted News Presenter after winning the same award for eight consecutive years.
Last year, she returned as an awardee of the same category.
"Once more thank you to Reader's Digest for this award and the trust this couldn't have come at a better time because things are really hard right now and we all could do with the extra push and inspiration.
"Thank you for going out of your way to give this out despite the restrictions and congratulations to the other winners," said Soho during the inaugural virtual Trusted Brands Awards.
Meanwhile, the most trusted radio presenter award was given to Enriquez. This is his sixth award under the same category.
Likewise, Enriquez thanked Reader's Digest for another recognition, "Thank you Reader's Digest Trusted Brand for this award, for this most cherished award.
"Thank you for the encouragement and inspiration to do even better, and thank you for recognizing our profession.”
Senator Manny Pacquiao remains to be the most trusted sports personality.
On the other hand, GMA Network wins platinum under most trusted TV network category.
Due to the global pandemic the traditional awards ceremony could not be held, but Reader's Digest was determined to recognise “success that deserves to be celebrated” says Asia Reader's Digest Editor-in-Chief Louise Waterson.
Asia Reader's Digest Advertising & Retail Director Sheron White says, for the first time in the award's 23-year history the live celebration had to be cancelled, but all is certainly not lost.
“You can sit in the comfort of your own home and enjoy viewing the award winners - those voted the most trusted by the public,” she says.
The inaugural virtual awards for The Philippines (plus Singapore and Malaysia) is available on its website.
