Jewel Mische revealed on their 6th wedding anniversary message that the courtship stage with Alex Kurzer was “kilig and fun but hard.”
Jewel Mische discussed that her courtship stage with her now-husband Alex Kurzer was filled with kilig and fun. The mom of two admitted that she also experienced challenges in it.
Jewel admitted these personal details when she wrote her 6th wedding anniversary post for Alex on her Instagram account. Alex and Jewel are living in the U.S. with their daughters Aislah and Emerald.
The former actress posted, “6 years. Wow, where do I even begin?”
Jewel started her message by looking back at their courtship stage. She said, “Courting was so KILIG & fun but HARD! We didn't kiss, cuddle, lay together... or anything else. We barely hugged & we talked about everything.”

The celebrity mom said that there were times that she reminded herself of the bigger picture.
“We waited 2 years & 2 months with half of those years being long distance. Was it easy at times, no, because human flesh likes to deceive us. I had to be reminded many times of the bigger picture.”
Jewel also disclosed that her friend challenged her about Alex's sexuality upon learning about their choice to set boundaries.
“One time a friend challenged me and asked “Are you sure he's not gay?” Psh. It was our choice to set boundaries. We needed it. We knew how our “equipment” worked. We didn't need to test it out because we were serious in wanting to honor God.”
She added, “Not being physical forced us to develop emotionally. It forced us to communicate. And because our visions weren't clouded by sin & sex, we could really see each other's flaws.”
Jewel shared that what they did wasn't easy but it shaped their marriage.
“Although that time period was hard, it set a beautiful foundation in our marriage. And I can't wait to share with Aislah & Emerald about the journey mommy & daddy took.”
Jewel said Alex is the man that she was praying for.
“It's possible to have a Godly courtship in a wicked dating world. God answered my prayer for a man that wouldn't kiss me 'til our wedding day even though everyone told me I was crazy!”
Before ending her post, Jewel thanked Alex for the relationship that they built and said that she is looking forward to spending forever with him.
“Happy 6th anniversary, @KurzerAlex. Thank you for finding me. Thank you for waiting for me. Thank you for courting me. Thank you for marrying me. Thank you for leading our family. HERE'S TO FOREVER and may we continue to honor the Lord with this union.”
