Jo Koy flight emergency landing

Jo Koy and his family are safe after their flight from Philippines to LA made an emergency landing in Japan.

Filipino-American comedian Jo Koy experiences an emergency landing of his flight from Manila to Los Angeles in Japan.

On Thursday, Jo Koy posted a video on Instagram addressing the incident, saying he and his family are safe, showing him and his family having a meal.

"We were on our way back to LA from the Philippines when the entire cabin filled with smoke (due to electrical fire). We then made an emergency landing into Tokyo, Japan," he said in the caption.

In the video, Jo Koy praised the Philippine Airlines crew for "staying calm in a situation that could have quickly taken a turn for the worse."

"We are safe, we are in Tokyo, and our next flight out is in nine hours so we are going to have some sake. I love you guys," he said.

According to reports, Jo Koy left the Philippines on Wednesday evening on a flight to Los Angeles.

The Manila to Los Angeles flight made an emergency landing due to smoke in the cabin, with all its passengers and crew reported safe upon arriving at Haneda Airport in Japan early Thursday.

Recently, Jo Koy appeared on It's Showtime and talked about his visit to Bacolod, where he participated in activities for the Jo Koy Foundation, which aims to build a school and other facilities for the community.
