Sparkle artist Joaquin Domagoso admitted that he had a hard time preparing for his role in the film Ako Si Ninoy, especially his character required a lot of singing and dancing, aside from his usual acting skills.

In an interview on Marites University, Joaquin said it was hard to prepare for his role in the movie, but that he had great help from Direk Vince Tañada.

“Lalo na sa singing and dancing, because that part, when it comes to putting it into acting, I got really a hard time,” he said.

Joaquin revealed that since the movie is originally a play directed by Direk Vince, he was able to study the old videos of the play on YouTube and spent a lot of time watching his character and the whole play to understand what happened.

He added, “The whole day, it wasn't just me naman e, it was like the other cast na nakasama ko. It was all theater actors, magagaling sila. They went through a process that trims down five hundred students just to 10.”

In a separate interview, her co-star, Cassy Legaspi, also admitted that her role in the movie was challenging to play, coming from acting in commercials and light drama in various series.

“There are many firsts in this movie for me. And although, yes, it was challenging, I also had fun because I know na as an actor, you always have to level up,” she said.

She added, “So, instead of sticking to doing the usual acting ko na cutesy-cutesy, medyo naging seryoso na 'ko sa film na 'to.”

In the same interview as Joaquin, his dad, Isko Moreno, expressed how proud and excited he is of his son and his recent achievements, and wished that Joaquin will be in “a better place in showbiz” in the future.
