Winwyn Marquez shares the life lesson she's learned from her dad Joey Marquez.
Known to be a comedic actor, former PBA player Joey Marquez can be quite strict when it comes to his children… or that's what his daughter Winwyn Marquez revealed.
On Instagram, the Glow Up host shared a piece of life advice her dad has been ingraining in her head ever since she was growing up and that is “never settle for less.”
“Never-ending paalala of Tsong [Joey] to my siblings and me: Never settle for less,” she captioned along with their photo.
“I will always be your ninja girl… don't worry about the weights and my training, okay?”
In an interview with GMANetwork.com last year, Winwyn also mentioned learning from her dad that beauty is nothing without intelligence.
She said, “You know, in showbiz maraming magaganda talaga, so ang hirap din na hindi ka ma-insecure.
“But at the same time, kung alam mo 'yung ginagawa mo, you're smart with your decisions, and you're comfortable on your own skin… dedma!
“Sinasabi ng dad ko, 'If they say you're ugly or if they say hindi ka para diyan [sa showbiz]... dedma! You're smart.'
“So, I'd rather be smart than just be beautiful.”
