John Arcilla will portray a villain in the second season of 'Lolong' after his tenure with another network.
John Arcilla may be playing a villainous role in the upcoming second season of Kapuso action serye Lolong, but the esteemed actor is playing a peacemaker between warring network fans on his social media account.
In a recent post on his official Instagram account, John shared a photo of himself along with a caption expressing his admiration for the country's top three broadcast networks. He also emphasized that there is no animosity between the three companies.
“Sana maramdaman ninyo ang nararamdaman ko tuwing nakikita ko ang mga BIG BOSS ng tatlong TV Network na magkakaharap sa isang lamesa, nagkukwentuhan na masaya, magkakasundo at magkakaibigan. Nakakatuwa silang tingnan. Ang sarap ho ng PAKIRAMDAM. Mawawalan ng saysay ang ating mga PAG-AALITAN,” he wrote.
John stressed that any competition between the three companies is healthy competition and that the networks only want to entertain the Filipino people and inform them about their public affairs programs.
“Napakasaya sa pakiramdam na kahit iba iba ang ating mga idolo ay magkakahawak pa rin ang ating mga kamay at iginagalang ang bawat isa. Mas magaan ho ang buhay na walang samaan ng loob,” he added.
John then went on to thank GMA Network Senior Vice President Atty. Annette Gozon-Valdes and his manager and ABS-CBN Head of TV Production Lauren Dyogi.
John Arcilla is the latest addition to the second season of Lolong, now dubbed Lolong: Bayani ng Bayan. John plays the character of Julio Figueroa, a powerful businessman with an underground fighting arena. In an interview with GMA News Online, John praised the complexity of the character he plays.
“'Yung complexity ng character ni Julio is believable but at the same time, logical,” he said. “'Yung values niya at 'yung mga pwedeng sikreto niya at pinanggagalingan, or 'yung center nung character, pinaka-backbone ng character is very, very pulido and malinaw kaya very interesting. I'm so excited to do it.”
Aside from John, new additions to the cast include Martin del Rosario, Nikko Natividad, Nikki Valdez, Rocco Nacino, Alma Concepcion, Tetchie Agbayani, Klea Pineda, Leo Martinez, and much more.
