John Prats thanked his former love team partner Heart Evangelista after the actress agreed to star alongside him in the music video for 'Teka Lang,' the latest single by TJ Monterde, marking their onscreen reunion more than two decades after they first captured fans' hearts.
John Prats expressed his appreciation for his former love team partner, Heart Evangelista, after she starred alongside him in the music video for "Teka Lang," the latest single by singer-songwriter TJ Monterde.
Heart appeared in the latter part of the video, where her character unexpectedly reunites with John's on a bus 23 years after they were separated. The music video tells the poignant story of childhood sweethearts, with Caprice Cayetano portraying the young girl whose future self is later revealed to be Heart.
In a recent Instagram post, John expressed his gratitude to Heart for agreeing to work with him again after many years.
He wrote, "Thank you, Gummy @iamhearte, for saying yes to this project. Sa totoo lang, hindi ko inakala na after so many years, makikita pa tayo ulit sa screen together. Hanggang ngayon parang surreal pa rin isipin. Salamat sa tiwala at sa pagpayag na maging part ng project na ito. Ang daming memories ang bumalik, pero mas masaya na nakagawa tayo ng bago para sa mga taong sumubaybay sa atin noon. Grabe lang talaga si God. Full circle moment. #JoHeart."
Meanwhile, in Heart's Instagram Reel featuring behind-the-scenes clips from the music video, John admitted that it felt surreal to be acting in a romantic project again.
He shared, "The last time na nagkita kami was interview, so conversation. Parang nanumbalik yung pakiramdam noon. Kasi yung last time na nagawa ko ito, sobrang tagal na. After naman ng mga love team era na 'yon, nag-comedy na ako, nagsayaw na ako, nag-action na ako. Wala na akong masyadong romantic projects."
The actor-director also noted that the experience felt different this time, as he was back in front of the camera as an actor after years of focusing on other genres and directing. The scene between him and Heart in the "Teka Lang" music video was specifically helmed by Irene Villamor.
He said, "Iba yung adjustment, pero ang saya kasi follower lang ako kasi may direktor tayo. Dati kasi ako yung nagdi-direct."
The reunion comes shortly after Heart and John appeared together in an episode of the fashion icon's reality series Heart World. The episode is set to air a replay on Saturday, June 13.
In the show, the former on-screen pair reminisced about their early days in show business and their past romance. John also revealed that Heart played a role in bringing him and his wife, Isabel Oli, together.
As a love team, Heart and John were best known for portraying Missy and Yuan in the youth-oriented television series G-mik in the early 2000s.
