jonas gaffud receives ashes of his dad

Jonas Gaffud on receiving his father's ashes, “I wish I spent more time with him than work.”

Days after announcing his father's death on April 19, beauty queen maker Jonas Gaffud has finally received his father's ashes.

In a post made yesterday, April 23, Jonas is seen donning an outfit that may seem over-the-top but is quite meaningful for the grieving son.

He wrote, “I finally got my Dad's ashes. I was looking for protective gear but I saw this robe [which has a microfiber material. Umoutfit ba 'di ba].

“I used this on my 40th birthday celebration in Bangkok, Thailand, where my Dad was so proud and happy.

“I suddenly miss his jokes and laughter. I wonder how painful it was for him to die alone. We were not allowed to go to the cremation as well.”

He then added, “I wish I spent more time with him than work but I guess that's life.”

Continuous mourning

Jonas did not disclose any information as to the cause of death of his father's passing, but he did mention in earlier posts that the elder Gaffud needs blood donors for Blood Type A+.

Due to complications, Juan Gaffud passed away at the age of 73.

Since his passing, Jonas continues to commemorate his late father such as mentioning he was a military man that served the country well.

But because of the coronavirus pandemic and the enhanced community quarantine, he won't be receiving a 21-gun salute as per tradition.

He was a soldier. He was a farmer. He served his family, he served his country. In this time of pandemic, there is no 21 gun salute for a Retired Soldier. But if he were younger, he would have been a Frontliner. I know, that my salute is the best gift I can honor him with. I was hesitant to go to the hospital because of Covid 19. But in this time of chaos and loss, there is nothing braver than to bury a loved one. I love you forever Dad. ❤️❤️❤️🇵🇭 #dancewithmyfatheragain #family #love

Furthermore, he also described his father as pious and “always prays with childlike faith.”

He was a devotee to the Blessed Mother Mary 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼❤️❤️❤️ Photo with Our Lady of Piat. He always prays with a childlike faith.

Friends and beauty queens also continue to send their condolences, as well as laughter, to Jonas as he moves on to another chapter in his life.

The likes of Michele Gumabao and Eat Bulaga dabarkad Allan K. couldn't help but shed light on the situation by pointing to Jonas's outfit.

Michele wrote in the comments, “He is smiling at your outfit right now. Sending love and prayers, Mama J.”

Meanwhile, Allan K wrote, “Kabog ang outfit!!!! Paandar.”
