Jose Manalo on Vic Sotto: "Yung charisma kasi ni Bossing iba, e."
Comedian and TV host Jose Manalo is set to showcase his signature comedy prowess every weekend via the new sitcom Open 24/7.
The former StarStruck council waorking again with Vic Sotto in a sitcom, five years after Hay, Bahay! ended its run in August 2017. They will be joined by TV and movie actress Maja Salvador, who will star in her first show on GMA Network.
In his interview with Kapuso Insider, Jose expressed his excitement over this new project with Bossing Vic.
“Unang-una, siyempre, masaya kasi nagkaroon uli tayo with Bossing," he said.
“Napahinga nang matagal-tagal. 'Tapos, pangalawa, kinakabahan. Kaya ko bang mag-dialogue, medyo maninibago. Panibagong taping na naman, adjustment.”
“Pero 'yung makasama uli ako ni Bossing, masaya. 'Yung tandem namin, chemistry mabubuhay. Bagong character, bagong simula. Siguradong magulo ito, e. At si Bossing naman, kasi e, kahit sino naman i-salpak mo diyan. Kahit siguro hindi niya ka-partner or 'di niya ka-team, kaya, e.”
Vic has established a reputation as a juggernaut in the comedy entertainment with numerous successful sitcoms under his belt like Daddy Di Do Du and the recently concluded Daddy's Gurl.
In an interview with Kapuso Insider, Jose highlighted Vic's “charisma” that makes their comedy shows be well-received by viewers.
“Si Bossing kasi parang, unang-una, hindi mahirap kasama, e. 'Yung pangalan na sinasabi natin “Bossing”, pero 'pag kasama mo siya sa likod ng camera, ordinaryo na kaibigan mo, barkada mo, kapatid mo .
“Doon na rin kasi nabubuo rapport niya and 'pag nasa behind the camera kayo, doon na nabubuo, e. So, hindi namin namamalayan nadadala namin.
“Tsaka 'yung charisma kasi ni Bossing iba, e. Parang si Tito Dolphy, hindi pa nagsasalita or kahit sabihin mo ulitin pa 'yung ginagawa- matatawa at matatawa ka pa rin. Hindi masyadong expression 'yung mukha, pero the way papaano i-deliver.”
