“My little girl had an accident,” Joy Woolshire Sotto shares her distress of bringing her daughter to the hospital amid COVID-19 pandemic

A distressed Joy Woolshire-Sotto, wife of politician Gian Sotto, is seen on Instagram late last week as she shared that her daughter Amari had to be rushed to the hospital due to an arm injury.

In the post, she wrote, “2 weeks ago! What most parents dread at this time, having to go to a hospital or see a doctor, happened to us!

“She was in pain and couldn't move her right arm. I was praying and praying for two days that it would be okay after putting cold compress but it got worse. It swelled and she would cry from the pain.”

Amid her worry, she was then advised by her friends (who are doctors) that she should have Amari's arm checked via X-ray.

“We needed to get an X-ray. Imagine the fear and worry going through our heads!

“But God is good all the time. We found a Hi-Precision clinic that was open so that's where we went. I was still scared to go though but we went in full gear, we wore our masks, jackets, glasses, and of course prayers for full protection.”

At the end of the session, Joy was relieved to know that her daughter didn't have any broken bones but had multiple ligament sprain and tissue contusion that “had to be on a sling for 2-3 weeks and cold compress 3x a day.”

Fortunately, Amari has completely healed and is back to her normal self as if nothing had happened.

2 WEEKS AGO! What most parents dread at this time, having to go to a hospital or see a doctor, happened to us! My little girl had an accident. 😢 She was in pain and couldn't move her right arm. I was praying and praying for 2 days that it would be ok after putting cold compress but it got worse. It swelled and she would cry from the pain!😩😢 So thankful that friends were able to connect us to a doctor and we communicated online but since it wasn't getting better, we needed to get an X-ray. Imagine the fear and worry going through our heads! 😩 But God is good all the time. We found a Hi-Precision clinic that was open so that's where we went. I was still scared to go though but we went in full gear, we wore our masks, jackets, glasses, and of course prayers for full protection. I drove with Amari and Yaya and Praise God there weren't a lot of people. (Daddy @giansotto couldn't bring us coz he had work). So anyway, to make the long story short... results showed that there were no broken bones! 🙏🏼Which was exactly what we prayed for!!! She just had multiple ligament sprain and a soft tissue contusion. She had to be on a sling for 2-3 weeks, and cold compress 3x a day. By the way, the sling she used was her doll's baby carrier since there wasn't any at the moment😂 but it worked just fine. She loved it so much coz it was color pink! Haha! Fast forward after a week, she seemed fine already. And after 2 weeks, she was back to her normal self, dancing and singing. You saw the video last Sunday right? It was as if nothing happened! Praise God!!! The biggest lesson I learned from this incident was to just Trust God! I cried out to HIM, i prayed, I asked for prayers as well, and I surrendered to HIM. It was out of my control and there was nothing I could do but pray and just believe that HE would heal my little girl. He did!!! And even sooner than expected! We definitely have an awesome God! There's nothing too big that our God cannot handle, even with this global crisis. Let's all agree in prayer that HE will HEAL the world & stop this virus! We need to unite in prayer. As the Bible says, “For where two or three gather in my name, there am I with them.” Matthew 18:24

Joy even shared a video of her daughter dancing to her heart's content as the whole family sings to Hillsong's “Hosanna.”

We did this for 2 Sundays already. We decided to record this tonight because of that little dancer in the middle.😂 But don't worry, I'll only be posting one of the songs we sang.... This song became my favorite when I first heard it back in 2008 (This was also the time when we first became Christians). The title of the song is “Hosanna” by Hillsong. And how timely that the word Hosanna in Hebrew means to save/ to rescue. What we need to be reminded today is that we have a God who will save and we should not forget to pray to HIM, talk to HIM, thank HIM, praise HIM and worship HIM.... always!🙏🏼 Now join us and sing along if you know the song too! @giansotto . Been a while since I've been on Instagram but I'm back!❤️ Good Night Everyone!❤️

On Easter Sunday, Joy and Gian announced that they are expecting their sixth child together.

She wrote, “16 weeks! So timely that as we celebrate the resurrection of Christ, we also want to share that we are celebrating life… life of a new blessing.

“[It's] a secret we've been keeping since January. This came as a big surprise to us since we were not planning to have another one but our plan was not God's plan!”

She is expected to give birth in September 2020.

16 WEEKS! So timely that as we celebrate the Resurrection of Christ, we also want to share that we are celebrating life.... a life of a new blessing! A secret we've been keeping since January.😬🤗 This came as a big surprise to us since we were really not planning to have another one.... BUT our plan was not God's plan!❤️🙏🏼 We've been wanting to share this last month, Gian's @giansotto birthday month, but unfortunately it was when the Covid situation started and we felt that it just wasn't the right time to share. We waited on God's perfect time and TODAY felt right!❤️🙏🏼 . 📸 @storkstudio
