Singer Victor Wood has passed away at the age of 74.
The country's original “Jukebox King” reportedly succumbed to COVID-19 complications at the New Era General Hospital in Quezon City today, April 23.
“Goodbye my ever dearest youngest brother. We love you so much. We will never forget you,” the singer's sister, Maria Testado, wrote on Facebook.
Victor started as an actor, appearing in movies produced by the now legendary Sampaguita Pictures.
But it was through singing where Victor would gain enormous fame.
Some of his biggest hits included “I'm Sorry My Love,” “Eternally,” and “Mr. Lonely.”
The OPM icon also ran for a senate seat in 2007 but lost.
A biopic about his life is scheduled for release this year with actor Martin Escudero portraying the lead role.
