Filipino culture and talent shone brighter than ever at the 10th-anniversary celebration of Taste of Manila 2023, the largest Filipino festival outside the Philippines.
With an opening day that drew a crowd of more than 500,000 attendees, this year's event was made more special by the electrifying performances of Asia's Multimedia Star Julie Anne San Jose and Kapuso Total Heartthrob Rayver Cruz.
GMA Network's flagship international channel GMA Pinoy TV proudly partnered with the Society of Philippine Artists, Recreation, and Community (SPARC) to present the iconic Filipino street festival. The festival, which coincided with GMA Pinoy TV's 18th anniversary, was held last August 19 and 20.
Julie Anne, making her debut appearance in Canada, left the audience awe-inspired with her masterful renditions of “Bang Bang” and “I'll Be There.” Rayver, on the other hand, captivated the crowd with his dance performance on the hit songs “Treasure” and “Until I Found You.” The highlight of the evening was their enchanting duet of “Pag-ibig na Kaya.”
A special “meet and greet” session with Julie Anne and Ravyer also added a personal touch to the festivities, allowing select guests and Jungo Pinoy subscribers to connect with their favorite artists.
Beyond their performances, Julie Anne and Rayver extended their appreciation to their dedicated fans with an exclusive meet and greet, where select VIP guests and Jungo Pinoy subscribers had the privilege of meeting the stars up close.
“Taste of Manila is not just a festival, it's a representation of the vibrant Filipino spirit that resonates across the world. We at GMA Pinoy TV are thrilled to spend this celebration with our Kapuso in Canada. It's an honor to bring such outstanding talents like Julie Anne San Jose and Rayver Cruz to this grand celebration,” said GMA First Vice President and Head of International Operations Joseph T. Francia.
During the two-day festival, Pinoys and non-Pinoys alike were united in vibrant festivities that showcased the rich Filipino culture through music, dance, and delectable cuisine. The event stood as a true embodiment of Filipino pride.
“We would like to thank the more than 500,000 attendees who became part of the biggest Filipino Street Festival in North America. It was truly a memorable celebration of Taste of Manila in its 10 years,” said Danilo Baluyot, SPARC Executive Director.
