GMA Network is opening another stage for aspiring young singers as The Voice Kids Philippines returns for its eighth season. This new chapter brings not only a fresh wave of talented contestants but also a dynamic lineup of coaches ready to guide the country's next generation of vocal stars.

With their experience and artistry, these mentors will take on the challenge of shaping young voices and inspiring them to shine on one of the nation's most beloved singing competitions.

This season, Julie Anne San Jose remains in her seat as one of the coaches, while Pop Rock Royalty Yeng Constantino and Philippine rap icon Gloc-9 join the lineup. Adding to the fresh energy onstage is a new hosting tandem, with former solo host Dingdong Dantes now paired with Kapuso It Girl Gabbi Garcia to lead the TVK stage.

With a new set of coaches comes a new perspective on the songs they would love to hear from the young aspirants. During ATM Live's exclusive interview with the coaches, they individually shared which of their songs they wish a kid aspirant would perform.

“Gusto ko 'yung 'Right Where You Belong,' a different areglo,” says Coach Julie.

Meanwhile, Coach Gloc considers his collaboration song with Asia's Songbird Regine Velasquez as a thrilling piece to watch onstage. “Puwede 'yung 'Takipsilim,' may ginagawa kasi si Ms. Regine do'n na kahit try kong ulitin 'yung adlib no'ng melody, nasisira 'yung ulo ko sa sobrang galing. Kapag 'yun narinig ko sa isang mag-o-audition, ay talaga. Matatanggal 'yung red chair sa kaiikot,” he shared.

For Coach Yeng, she recalls her ballad that was performed by Queen of Soul Jaya. “Ang title ng song is 'Kasalanan Ko Ba'. I think, puwede siyang aregluhin nina Sir Mark Lopez in such a way na pang-contest siya. 'Pag nagawa 'yun, I think sobra akong ma-e-excite, baka maluha ako,” she explained.

Given their own genres and styles in music, the coaches altogether also wish to have a collaboration project beyond The Voice Kids Philippines. For Coach Yeng, the timing seems perfect for the three of them to work together.

“Feeling ko perfect season ngayon na mag-collab kami kasi mas madalas kaming magkasama tsaka lahat ng road managers namin, naka-tie talaga 'yung schedules, so perfect timing,” she said.

Specifically, they want to lean more on the style of Gloc-9, taking pride in Filipino talent. “Gusto ko talaga 'yung parang direksyon ng mga ginagawa ni Kuya Gloc… About galing ng mga Pilipino-galing ng mga bata. Very timely sa 'The Voice Kids' ['yung] gano'ng type,” she adds.

And before the upcoming rivalries of Julesquad, Yengredibles, and Team Makata, the coaches exchanged their messages, especially with Yeng and Gloc-9's first-time involvement in the biggest singing competition.

“Alam ko na mas may bitbit kayo pagdating sa singing, pero 'wag niyong i-underestimate ang Team Makata,” says Coach Gloc.

For Coach Yeng, joining the competition is also an opportunity to learn from her fellow coaches while sharing the things she knows. “I'm so blessed na ako'y napadpad dito para makatrabaho kayo. I can't wait na maungkat pa ang kung ano pa ang mga alam ng inyong mga pag-iisip-[kung] bakit kayo ganyan-at ma-impart-an n'yo pa ako ng mga bagay na gusto kong matutunan,” Coach Yeng shared.

Being the “in-house” coach of the competition, Coach Julie shared that one of her dreams in her career is finally becoming a reality. “More than anything, talagang sobrang honored ako na makatrabaho kayo. Dati pangarap ko lang makasama si Coach Gloc tsaka si Coach Yeng sa isang project. Ngayon, I think, natupad na 'yung isa sa mga dreams ko na 'yon,” she said.

Meanwhile, as the coaches prepare to face each other in the upcoming season, host Dingdong Dantes also gave Gabbi Garcia a welcome message before they begin their pairing on the TVK stage.

“I'm just so excited to share this experience with you. Naku, 'pag makita mo ang kuwento ng mga kids na 'to, I'm sure maaalala mo lahat ng kabataan mo. Marami tayong matututunan sa kanila,” he said.

With fresh coaches, a new hosting tandem, and a new batch of young voices ready to prove themselves, the eighth season of The Voice Kids Philippines is shaping up to be a season of new partnerships, friendly rivalries, and, most importantly, stories that celebrate the talent of Filipino kids.

The Voice Kids Philippines premieres every Sunday starting September 13 at 7 PM on GMA Network channel, Kapuso Stream on YouTube, and GMA Play app.
