Julio Diaz explains why some people thought he was already dead.


News on the death of veteran actor Julio Diaz quickly spread in entertainment websites and social media today, October 24. But Julio, who was rushed to the hospital last April due to severe headache caused by a swollen vein, immediately responded that he is very much alive.

Inquirer Entertainment posted a photo of Julio's text message to writer Bayani San Diego, Jr. on its Twitter account.

"Heto, busy ako sa kasasagot sa bagong balita tungkol sa [akin] na PATAY NA DAW ako. My answer is heto BUHAY NA BUHAY, kapatid ko sa ama 'yun na heart [attack] at kapangalan ko rin. Mula pa madaling araw panay ang sagot ko sa [text]. Bale wala pa akong tulog. [Sorry] 'di ako nakasagot agad," he explained.

Julio, whose real name is Mariano Regaliza, was last seen in the Kapuso network as Dingdong Dantes's stepfather in the 2012 primetime series Pahiram ng Sandali.
