Korean girl group DIA member, Jung Chae-yeon, has been injured on the set of her upcoming drama The Golden Spoon and has undergone surgery.
On September 12, Jung's agency PocketDol Studio shared that the actress-singer would be having a surgery to mend her fractured collarbone following an accidental fall during the filming of her upcoming drama.
According to XSportsNews, Jung fell from a flight of stairs on September 10 while on set, and was immediately brought to a hospital in Seoul. After undergoing a CT scan and X-ray, doctors confirmed that she had a “collarbone fracture and showed symptoms of a concussion.”
Jung has posted on DIA's official fan cafe site to update her fans of her recovery. “I'll be fine once I get surgery! Don't worry.” she wrote, as per AllKpop. She added, “I admit I'm a little nervous… but it'll all be fine.”
DIA is due to make a comeback with their single album Rooting For You on September 15. The album release precedes DIA's contract expirations with their agency.
PocketDol Studio and The Golden Spoon's management have yet to confirm how Jung's recovery will affect her participation in upcoming scheduled activities for DIA's comeback and The Golden Spoon's filming. The drama will premiere later this month on MBC.
