k brosas daughter crystal comes out as lesbian

K Brosas tells her followers: “I am proud of my daughter. I don't care kung ano'ng sexual preference n'ya.”

On the eve of K Brosas's birthday, the comedian uploaded a video with her daughter Crystal that said, “Birthday ko at may revelation kami ng anak ko.”

According to Brosas, she and her daughter have something to say that will drastically affect their lives.

“Ako po si Crystal and I'm a lesbian. I am gay,” announced Crystal to the camera.

The singer-comedian had Crystal when she was only 22 years old and raised her as a single mom.

K Brosas mentioned that she took notice of her daughter's sexual preference since her high school days and added, “Sa mga nagtatanong, matagal ko na pong alam.

“And, wala akong galit, wala akong bwisit, tinanggap ko.”

During the 10-minute video, it was revealed that Crystal came out to her mom years ago and kept it within themselves while waiting for the right moment to say it to the world.

The comedian added, “Kahit halamang dagat ka pa, mamahalin kita kasi that's unconditional love bilang magulang.

“So now, we're here and ito na 'yung ginagawa natin sa video na ito.”

Teary-eyed, Brosas then turned to the camera and advised parents who have children of the LGBTQIA+ community to learn to accept their children because “unconditional love dapat 'yan.”

“I love my daughter. Alam ko na po ito years ago and I support her.

"Maganda ang relationship namin, wala kaming tinatago. Well, ito lang naman kasi dapat may right time.

Crystal's coming out story

On Twitter, the 22-year-old released her side of the story and described being in the closet for years was “hard.”

“There were lots of struggles, challenges, and pain that molded me into the person I am now,” she said.

“It affected my music creation, human interaction, and also with my love life. There was an inner argument with myself in high school where I told myself, 'Is this wrong? Maybe I should try with boys.'”

In the end, she realized that being true to herself is important for her to achieve happiness in life.

“You should never force yourself to be straight because being gay is not wrong in the first place.”

Crystal Brosas disclosed that she came out to her mom on July 7, 2017, three years before the release of the video mentioned above.

She said that her mom accepted her with open arms and narrated that it was “one of the best days of my life.”

By posting her coming out story, she hopes to be finally free from her judgment and turn on a new leaf as she welcomes a new day ahead.

“No more hiding, no more pain, and no more pretending.

Crystal then thanked her mom for the gift she's received and added, “I would never trade you for anyone else.

“Salamat dahil ikaw ang naging nanay ko. Mahal na mahal kita.”

She concluded the post by saying she will use her voice to advocate for the acceptance of the LGTBQIA+ community.

“Love is love. Hands up, my fellow androgynous lesbians.”
