'KPop Demon Hunters' is getting a sequel, but fans will have to wait

Looks like Huntr/x isn't done slaying demons, or the stage, just yet! But their long-awaited reunion will take a little more time.

A new era for K-Pop Demon Hunters is on the horizon, as Netflix and Sony move forward with plans for a sequel to the hit animated musical. The much-awaited comeback of the animated musical adventure. As reported by Bloomberg, the sequel is eyeing a 2029 release.

Animated projects typically take years to complete, which explains the long gap before Huntr/x hits the screen again. Still, the release date could change as production develops.

The hit animated film K-pop Demon Hunters tells the story of a K-pop girl group who use their music to battle dark forces threatening the world. Produced by Sony Pictures Animation and released exclusively on Netflix through a licensing deal, the movie became one of the platform's biggest successes to date. Its soundtrack also took the music world by storm, with “Golden,” “Your Idol,” and “Soda Pop” all dominating the Billboard Hot 100 and sparking Grammy Award buzz.
