aespa comeback

The future is bright for fourth-generation K-pop girl group aespa.

Korean girl group aespa continuously proves that they're the hippest next-generation K-pop idols as they sign a new label deal, partner up with one of the most popular streaming services, release a teaser for their newest mini-album, and drop a new track as a preview all in one day.

In a post on aespa's official Twitter account, the K-pop idols shared the teaser for their upcoming mini-album, Girls. The highly anticipated second mini-album comes after their debut mini-album Savage and is set to be released on July 8, 2022.

The EP is said to include aespa's English-language track “Life's Too Short,” which they sang at the Coachella stage and will officially be released on June 24, and their new song “Illusion” which they released today, June 1, ahead of the new mini album's release.

Starting the month right, aespa also announced that the group and their agency SM Entertainment signed a partnership deal with global music label Warner Records to help with the distribution and promotion of the girl group's music around the world.

Co-chairmen of Warner Records, Tom Corson and Aaron Bay-Shuck, shared in an interview, “Karina, Winter, Giselle, and Ningning of aespa have already made an impact around the world under the leadership of SM Entertainment. We're honored to welcome them to the Warner Records' family as our first-ever K-pop group and look forward to achieving unprecedented success together.”

SM Entertainment Co-CEOs Seongsoo Lee and Youngjun also state, “SM is well aware of the long history of success of Warner Records with global artists, and we are grateful for Warner's trust in the future of aespa. We will continue to show aespa's unique innovative music and work together with Warner to make aespa grow into a world-class group.”

As part of Warner Records' promotions for the group girl, aespa will appear on the popular American talk show Jimmy Kimmel Live!

But that's not all. The Korean girl group will also be launched on Apple Music as the streaming service's latest global “Up Next Artist.” The partnership with Apple will entail a new short film with the group and a sit-down interview with them that will be streamed on Apple Music 1 radio.

MYs (aespa's fans) are beaming with happiness over these comeback plans and are fuming with excitement. Take a look at some of their reactions.
