Award-winning Sparkle actor Jeric Gonzales gamely answered the questions about his ex-girlfriend Rabiya Mateo.
The Start-Up Ph star was interviewed by Kapuso comedians Boobay and Pepita Curtis for YouLOL's online talkshow titled Kalurks, where he stated that he and Rabiya are doing okay despite their break up.
“Okay naman kami. Masaya naman kami, Jeric smiled then added, “We support each other alam mo 'yun. No matter what 'di ba! Dapat ganun naman talaga, e," he said.
Jeric also shared that they keep their communication lines open for each other.
“We keep our communications okay pa rin. We support each other and then communication talaga, communication 'yung importante. Para magkaintindihan kayo 'di ba.”
Meanwhile, Pepita asked Jeric if there's anything he wants to undo about his past relationship with the Kapuso beauty queen.
He simply replied, “Wala, kasi masaya ako sa lahat ng pinagsamahan namin.”
It's been 10 years since Jeric Gonzales won in the reality-talent competition Protégé: The Battle for Big Artista Break.
According to him, the show enabled him to move out from his shell, “Malayong-malayo. Dati kasi, sobrang mahiyain tapos may pagka-introvert. Hindi talaga ako nakikisama socially, parang hirap talaga ako kasi dati naman nursing-nursing lang [at] nag-aaral ako. Though sumasali ako sa mga pageants, pero hindi talaga ako sanay sa mga tao.”
He added, “Na-overcome ko 'yun and then, siyempre, 'yung trust na ibinigay sa akin ng GMA sa mga projects nadevelop talaga ako. Of course, minahal ko 'yung acting, 'yung craft. 'Tapos, nag-workshop and mas inopen ko 'yung skills ko sa pagkanta [at] sa pagtugtog.”
Aside from Start-Up PH, Jeric also considers his role in the afternoon series Magkaagaw as a big milestone in his career.
He explained, “Kino-consider ko rin 'yung Magkaagaw as my biggest break, kasi grabe 'yung mga ginawa ko dun. Grabe 'yung maturity ng role ko. And then love scenes.”
