
Filipinos raise your flags high and mighty as Kammerchor Manila wins this year's Choir of the World competition.
On July 8, 2023, Kammerchor Manila bagged the title of the 2023 Choir of the World in the prestigious competition Choir of the World, Dance Champions & Pendine International Voice of the Future 2023.
Held in Llangollen, United Kingdom, the competition saw finalists from different parts of the world battle each other for the Choir of the World title and the Pavarotti trophy. After competing with the collective, Kammerchor Manila was recognized for its impeccable talent and prestige and made it to the top.
In a short video posted on their Facebook page, members of the church choir took it upon themselves to announce the good news that they won the competition. Truly, this is a proud moment for Filipinos who are greatly known for their talent in singing and performing.
Kammerchor Manila is a non-profit choral organization and is considered one of the premier church choirs in the country. The organization comprises musical director Anthony Go Villanueva, soprano leader Queenie Adon, and sopranos Sheryl Lagundino, Diana Cadahing, Maybelle Baldorado, Caren Mongcopa, Krystil Buesa, Lakasdiwa Paguia, Ericka Patawaran, Patricia Patnugot, Jaymitch Ferolino, and Jamille Logmao.
Joining the rest of the troop is alto leader Mae Robles and altos Diane Tuason, Janine De Belen, Lory Esperancilla, Roxanne San Jose, Eloisa Contreras, and Ann Janine Lomentigar. They also have tenor leader Jerome Silvestre and tenors Arvin Garcia, Feb Justine Elvira, Kevin Yu, Mario del Rosario, Renz Marcial, John Paul Guanzon, and Renz Alain Apostol.
For bass, they have bass leader Chian Kemp Ilagan and bass members Jasper Sueña, Darwin Lomentigar, Chris Ibañez, Juni Herrera, Cris Magana, Joel Nalda, Aerich Balanggao, and Reniel Car Nobleta.
