Actor-turned-senator Ramon ‘Bong’ Revilla Jr. takes on a new project with the Kapuso network as the host of its latest infotainment show.
Done with being the funny man in HP: to the Highest Level , actor-turned-senator Ramon ‘Bong’ Revilla Jr. takes on a new project with the Kapuso network as the host of its latest infotainment show, Kap’s Amazing Stories . Alamo Featuring surprising and almost unbelievable videos from the National Geographic Channel, Senator Bong becomes the Philippines’ Dean Cain and gives information delivery an exciting twist as he spices it with entertainment through computer-generated effects. “Ang kagandahan dito sa Kap’s (Amazing Stories), marami kang matututunan (at) mauunawaan na bagay-bagay tungkol sa mga tao, mga hayop at kalikasan. It’s really educational (at) may mapupulot kang mga aral” he shares, giving an overview of the show. First time Used to portraying characters in sitcoms, Kap’s Amazing Stories is more than just a new project for Senator Bong. It also poses a new challenge for him as it is his first time to take on hosting – a job he has always wanted to do. “I’ve been wanting to do this kind of show. Doon kasi sa HP puro laro na, parang nakikita ko na hindi na ako bagay doon. Gusto ko namang itaas 'yung level ng konti” he explains. “First time kong ma-ho-host ng isang show at the same mag-na-narrate” he adds. “Kaya nakakatuwa rin na naisip nila 'yung concept na ito para sa akin.” As the host, Senator Bong carries over his cool and suave character, Kap, from Idol ko si Kap . And though he is new to hosting, he says he makes a conscious effort to meet expectations as the show’s front man. “Siyempre, (you have to consider) how you will deliver your lines. Mala-Mike Enriquez ba o mala-Arnold Clavio? Kailangan I have my own style” he asserts. Shifting gears has also allowed Senator Bong to show the sober side of him. “With this one, seryoso ka eh. Talagang mas intense ang ano (delivery) mo eh, kaya mas mahirap” he observes. Bong’s Amazing Stories As a man who has had his own share of amazing and unforgettable stories in real life, Senator Bong may indeed be the perfect man for Kap’s Amazing Stories . During the show’s press conference, he shares the top three most amazing things he has experienced. “(‘Yung) hostage drama na iyan, akala ko it’s the end of me. Pero at least nalampasan natin at sumuko rin sila (pertaining to the hostage takers)” he says, recalling the incident in Quiapo, Manila. He proceeds, “'yung sa Quezon (Province), na-trap kami at nasarahan kami ng kalye sa gitna ng bagyo. 'Yung mabigat namang nangyari sa buhay ko noong bata pa ako, 'yung sarili kong tao nagbarilan inside my car. That was 20 years ago. Ibang klase.” At present, the actor-politician juggles his time serving in the Senate and shooting for Kap’s Amazing Stories and Resiklo, his upcoming movie with StarStruck 1 Ultimate Female Survivor Jennylyn Mercado.
