Pomade, our grandfathers' hair product of choice, has enjoyed a resurgence in this era of ever-changing trends.
They give the hair a shiny and slick look and can be made from oil-based or water-based substances.
Oil-based pomades are made of grease or petroleum and are hard to wash off.
Water-based pomades are easier to wash off but don't have the hold of traditional oil-based pomades.
Kapuso actor Mikael Daez is on board with the trend.
"I've moved from wax to clay to paste. Now I'm using pomade. I kind of just go with the trend. Kasi kung ano 'yung trend, 'yun 'yung madami nilalabas. Right now, pomade is a big deal. I don't mind because it's easy to wash off. I get the water-based ones," he shares in an exclusive interview with GMANetwork.com.
Meanwhile, his fellow Kapuso actor Jason Abalos likes the consistency and hold of pomade.
"Old school! 'Yung ibang products kasi, nahuhulog sa mukha at nagiging oily 'yung mukha mo. 'Yung pomada sticky eh, pero mahirap alisin. Galing kay lolo!" he says.
