Aside from Christmas and the New Year, people are also looking forward to a much-awaited annual event, The Metro Manila Film Festival. Every year, the movie entries get bigger and better. The stars shine even brighter. Our favorite Kapuso talents have prepared themselves for all the pomp and pageantry. Bahay Kubo stars The young stars of GMA got the chance to work with the Diamond Star Maricel Soriano in Bahay Kubo. Dubbed as the Pinoy “Mano Po”, this film reiterates the theme of the holiday season- the importance of family. Look forward to the first film of Marian Rivera and Mark Herras together. Pop Princess Yasmien Kurdi and funny guy Bearwin Meily are also included in this stellar cast list. Enteng Kabisote Enteng Kabisote wards off evil once again. One of the most successful and popular sequels in Philippine movies return for the fourth time. Bossing Vic Sotto’s army of comedians Ruby Rodriguez and Jose Manalo never fail to make the audience even merrier this holiday season. Joining the wacky gang are the sultry goddesses Francine Prieto and Cristine Reyes. Mr. Joey de Leon makes a special appearance. Anak ng Kumander Our newest GMA Kapuso talent boxing champion Manny Pacquiao is the producer and the star of Anak ng Kumander. Directed by Kaka Balagtas, the action packed film is sure to draw the legions of fans of the Pambansang Kamao. Ms. Ara Mina is the Pacman’s partner in the flick. After all the ado, wouldn’t you want to see what the fuss is about? Desperadas stars The beautiful but desperate women of Desperadas will dispel the chill of the season. With the sexy comedienne Rufa Mae Quinto, the lovely Iza Calzado, and the “it” girl Marian Rivera playing the love-starved half-sisters, what else can one ask for this Christmas? Hot hunks Jay R and Wendell Ramos complete the movie’s star-filled line up! Shake, Rattle and Roll stars Everyone’s favorite Christmas nightmare is about to come true once again. Katrina Halili and Dennis Trillo head the young and hip cast of the 2007 version of the classic Regal production Shake, Rattle and Roll. This is the ninth edition of the film and Mother Lily promises a scarier and spookier Christmas for all. GMA stars Lovi Poe, Pauleen Luna, Mart Escudero, Jewel Mische, and Felix Roco are scattered among the three stories in the film. Resiklo Set in 2021, Resiklo offers a bleak future ahead but hope stirs among a few whose hearts remain true to what is good and right. Starring Senator Bong Revilla and his sons, this entry will be a hit among the sci-fi aficionados and the kids. The handsome Ding Dong Dantes will wield a sword once again. Jennylyn Mercado, Paolo Contis, Benjie Paras, and Michelle Madrigal complete the cast. Banal stars Alfred Vargas, Paolo Paraiso and Paolo Contis rub elbows with the one and only Christopher de Leon in the much anticipated film, Banal. Directed by news reporter and documentary maker Cesar Apolinario, Banal attempts to capture the drama and the ethical tension experienced by the local police.
